Michael Richter
is a woodwind doubler from Minnesota who has a passion for writing and arranging music and audio engineering.
He is currently working as an orchestra musician for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line on the Jewel of the Seas and the Oasis of the Seas. Previously, he has been on two runs of the National Broadway tour of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" in Fall of 2024 and 2025, before graduating from his undergrad at UW-Eau Claire in 2026 with with a BS in Music Liberal Arts, with a Recording Arts Certificate. He has experience on almost every woodwind instrument, from bassoon to piccolo, and has even performed with the ocarina.
Additionally, he has extensive writing, arranging, transcribing and copy-work experience. He has written countless charts primarily under the jazz umbrella but he has also made a few ventures into more contemporary styles as well as marching band arrangements.
Michael also has a deep passion for audio engineering, and has been behind the recording, mixing, and mastering process for several recordings. With experience creating live and studio recordings, he has released his composition and recording The Storm on Galilee in 2024 and his live album of compositions Chuva Ensolarada in 2026.
